Our Story

so far………..

1985

Mike O Shea rescues his first sheep from the cliffs around Kerry thus beginning his rope access career

2006

Work At Height is founded – initially to offer heights based training courses – mainly to the construction industry in Ireland

2007

Commenced work with the Irish Coast Guard to develop a new cliff rescue system and training programme which we have been proud to maintain since.

2016

The Movies come to Ireland : Work at Height provide safety and logistics services to the Star Wars : The Force Awakes and Star Wars : The Last Jedi productions.

With over 30 years experience in the rope access and rescue industry Mike is at the forefront of his trade. When not adventuring across the worlds icecaps Mike can be found working with our clients around the world on various projects from film work to rescue scenarios and difficult access solutions.

Suzanne MurtaghShe Who must be obeyed
Suzanne is the glue that holds Work At Height together. Based in Dingle Suzanne is the key point of contact for most of our customers and deals with everything from accounts to training schedules. When not keeping the guys in line Suzanne, as a keen marathon runner, can be found running the roads of Dingle.

As in house tech nerd Cian gets to write the bios on the website but has restrained himself from exaggerating his skills here! Cian can be found working alongside Mike on the many varied projects that Work At Height are involved in.

Work at Height has always shown a great willingness to adapt and cooperate with Coast Guard requests with regard to training and advice. This willingness to adapt is extremely important to us as our volunteers’ time needs to be balanced between their rescue work and domestic life. I have no hesitation in recommending Work at Height
